Pop-up First Communion shop in Kells

Parents in Kells have launched a unique initiative to help parents and save money as well as the planet.

The Parents’ Association of Our Lady of Mercy Junior School, Kells will hold their annual sustainable clothing initiative on Saturday 25th January.

They are creating a First Holy Communion Pop-up Shop where we will invite the 2025 First Holy Communion children and their families, to come to take a look at the collection and perhaps purchase a dress /suit or accessory, at a fraction of the original price.

The 'pop-up' is at Crosby's Shop on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

"Our aim is to reuse and recycle and we are hoping to build on this wonderful initiative year on year. We would like to encourage as many families as possible to get on board with us. If you have a child in the process process of making their First Holy Communion, please come along and support our pop-up shop. We currently have beautiful First Holy Communion dresses (some never worn) and dashing boys suits, ranging in different sizes and all in immaculate condition," they said.
