Gardai attend public order incident in Navan
Gardai were called to the scene of an incident involving a large group of people in the centre of Navan last night after it was claimed a man connected with an ongoing Garda investigation was spotted in the area.
It's believed the protest was moving towards Navan Garda station when an individual was spotted close to a fast food restaurant.
Contacted for comment An Garda Siochana told the Chronicle that no arrest were made during yesterday evening's incident.
"Gardaí attended at the scene of a public gathering in the Brews Hill area of Navan Town, Co. Meath yesterday evening, Wednesday 22nd January 2025.
"Any Garda response in relation to evolving events is in keeping with a community policing model and graduated policing response taking into account relevant legislation and public safety, primarily to ensure peace and public order is maintained, and no criminal offence is committed.
"No arrests were made and those gathered dispersed the area later in the evening.
