Meath v Mayo ladies Div 1 NFL Preview

Team news, where and when to watch and a view at the opposition.

The Meath ladies are out this Bank Holiday Monday for the second game of their Ladies NFL campaign against Mayo.

Last week Meath began their league journey with a solid win over Tyrone. Kerrie Cole and Megan Collins provided the goals for the Royals as they defeated the Ulster outfit 4-4 to 0-2.

Meath fans were also boosted by the news that AFL star Vikki Wall will be back in the green and gold this year and she was in ateendence for the match in Newtownstewart.

This week's game against Mayo will be broadcasted live on TG4 and throw-in is at 2pm at Pairc Tailteann on Monday Febuary 3rd.

Meath have made no changes to the starting 15 of the side that defeated Tyrone last weekend for this Monday's clash. They line out as below.

Meath - Robyn Murray; Aine Sheridan, Sarah Wall, Nicole Troy; Niamh Gallogly, Mary Kate Lynch, Clodagh Millington; Aoibhin Cleary (capt), Ella Moyles; Megan Thynne, Orla Sheehy, Ciara Smyth; Meadhbh Byrne, Marion Farrelly, Kerrie Cole.

Mayo suffered an opening-round defeat at the hands of Dublin last weekend at Parnell Park. The 2024 Connaught runner-ups will miss some key individuals this year after several high-profile retirements ahead of their 2025 Ladies NFL campaign. All-Star-nominated forward Lisa Cafferky, her sister Sinéad, stalwart Fiona McHale, goalkeeper Laura Brennan and former All-Star nominee, Éilis Ronayne have all opted out of playing for Mayo in 2025.
