Meath v Waterford Ladies Div 1 NFL Preview
Meath will be aiming to maintain their 100% record in the league this Sunday against Waterford
Shane McCormack's Meath Ladies side will hope to make it three from three in the Div 1 NFL when they face Waterford at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday.
Meath potentially had their best performance of McCormack's reign when they defied brutal conditions to put in a fantastic second-half performance which saw them comfortably see off Mayo last Monday.
That match on the Bank Holiday against Liam McHale's side had its fair share of edginess, but three goals in the second-half from Vikki Wall, Kerrie Cole and Niamh Gallogly proved crucial.
Shane McCormack's side will face a slightly tougher task against Waterford this week and the Deise have certainly shown in their opening two games that they can mix it with the best in the country.
Waterford secured an opening-round win against a Kildare side that have since proved themselves to be a formidable outfit. The girls in white and blue then just fell short against the All Ireland Champions Kerry. The Kingdom needed a second-half goal to secure a three-point win in the contest that also took place on Bank Holiday Monday.
Speaking after the Mayo victory, McCormack looked ahead to the upcoming bout against the Munster side.
"Waterford are an excellent team and they are a team that has really improved. They had a good win over Kildare. It'll be a tough game but we are playing them at home which is a bonus. The crowd get behind the girls. It's great to have that and they are our 16th player."
Meath will line out this Sunday unchanged from the team that started last Monday.
Meath - Robyn Murray; Aine Sheridan, Sarah Wall, Nicole Troy; Niamh Gallogly, Mary Kate Lynch, Clodagh Millington; Aoibhin Cleary, Vikki Wall; Megan Thynne, Orlaith Sheehy, Ciara Smyth; Meadhbh Byrne, Marion Farrelly, Kerrie Cole.
