Meath footballer and brother in Garda training together
Meath footballer Megan Thynne and brother Daniel are among the current recruits in training in the Garda College in Templemore.
While not a first, it is not too often you have a brother and sister in training for an Garda Síochana at the same time.
Daniel, formerly a landscaper, is due to be attested and sworn as a full member of An Garda Síochána this March with Intake 242.
His sister, Megan, a former preschool teacher and well-known Meath footballer, is due to begin Stage 2 in March with Intake 244.
The Dunsany duo are both well-known footballers with their local club. Megan holds three All-Ireland medals and has also won three national league titles with Meath. A dual star, she also holds an All-Ireland camogie medal.
An Gardai Síochana recently shared the photo of the siblings on its Facebook page as part of promoting its latest recruitment drive for trainee gardaí which recently opened.
