Saturday sport: Ireland face France in blockbuster Six Nations clash

Action has just gotten underway between Ireland and France in their blockbuster Six Nations clash at the Aviva Stadium.

Winger James Lowe picked up a knock in the warm-up and so did not start.

France include the half-back pairing of Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntmack whilst they have elected for a 7:1 split on the bench.

Later, Scotland welcome Wales to Murrayfield.

That game in Edinburgh is underway from 4:45pm.

The race for qualification for next year's UEFA Champions League heats up in the Premier League this afternoon.

Third placed Nottingham Forest and fourth placed Manchester City are going head to head, and Nottingham Forest have taken the lead there.

At 3pm Liverpool can go 16 points clear at the top with a win at home to basement side Southampton.

Elsewhere at the same time, Brighton welcome Fulham, and Crystal Palace host Ipswich.

At 5:30pm Brentford play Aston Villa and at 8pm Wolves take on Everton.

Limerick's clash with Galway is the headline fixture in today's Allianz Hurling League action.

That Division 1A clash throws in at 7:30pm.

In Division 1B, Dublin welcome Carlow to Parnell Park for a 6pm start.
