Met Eireann issues Status Yellow Warning for snow and ice.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Warning for icy conditions for the whole country, valid from 9pm tonight until 7pm tomorrow. Roads may become slippery due to scattered sleet or snow showers.
Tonight, showers will become increasingly wintry, falling as hail or sleet with snow possible in places, especially on hills and mountains and at lower levels in north Connacht and Ulster. Frost and icy patches also. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees with moderate to fresh, gusty west to northwest winds.
Gardai in Meath are advising anyone driving early tomorrow morning to take extra care and to give yourself extra time for your journey. Make sure that ALL of your cars windows are FULLY clear of ice before you set off.
Remember it can take up to 10 times longer to stop a vehicle on icy roads. In affected areas, slow down, keep further back from the vehicle in front and drive as gently as possible.
