Metges Lane seats being removed due to anti-social behaviour
As Meath County Council spends a fortune on streetscaping on one side of Market Square in Navan, at the Kentstown Road bridge, it has begun removing street furniture on another side of the square, due to anti-social behaviour.
Benches on Metges Lane are being removed by the council from the laneway which has been the subject of not one, but two major streetscaping works.
It is understood that local businesses requested the benches to be moved as they were attracting anti-social behaviour to the vicinity, which was disconcerting for customers, clients and staff.

Also today in the town, there was a number of arrests on Market Square following public order incidents.
There was also an ambulance called to the scene when a pedestrian was reported to have been struck on the square this evening.
