School choirs join forces with Celtic Tenor

The students of Navan schools St Patrick’s Classical School and St Joseph’s Convent of Mercy will get the opportunity to share the stage with The Celtic Tenors next week. The transition year programme and school choir at St Patrick’s are delighted host the upcoming concert in St Patrick’s Classical School on Thursday, 25th October.

Moynalty man, and Celtic Tenor, Matthew Gilsenan has been working closely with St Patrick’s Classical School Choir, and teacher Aisling Bowens, to prepare this choir, along with St Joseph’s Convent of Mercy Choir, for a feast of music and song. He says: "It is fantastic to see a new choral culture emerge at St Patrick’s Classical School. There is a huge amount of natural talent here in the Navan area and is a great show case for these boys".
Another part of the concert is raising funds for the charity, Make A Wish Foundation, of which The Celtic Tenors are ambassadors.
This charity aims to grant the wishes of children across Ireland with life threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness, providing respite from their routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment.
Make A Wish receives no funding and relies on donations and fundraising to continue granting children’s wishes.

This is a great opportunity to see the Celtic Tenors on home ground, with home talent. Their international shows are always special but Irish audiences are assured of an especially exhilarating musical evening with plenty of craic thrown in too.
Tickets, €20, are available through St Patrick’s Classical School on (046) 902 1847, St Joseph’s Convent of Mercy on (046) 902 1830 or through www.celtictenors.com
