The Meath girls who were in action for Leinster

Meath students help Leinster to victory

Navan students Robyn Murray and Charlie Murray along with Dunshaughlin's Abby McHugh were part of the Leinster team that claimed the under-15 Girls’ Interprovincial tournament at the AUL Complex in Dublin over the weekend.

Leinster claimed the Dr Fionnuala Quigley Memorial trophy with three wins from three to maintain their 100 per cent record in the competition.

The Leinster side only needed a draw in their final game to see them lift the title, but a goal in each half sealed a brilliant 2-0 victory over a skillful Munster select.

Leinster opened the scoring through Jessie Stapleton, but they needed St Joseph’s Mercy SS, Navan netminder Robyn Murray to pull off a spectacular save to deny Salesian Secondary College star Aine Walsh to keep their slight advantage at the interval.

Then Ellen Molloy stuck the match winner 12 minutes after the restart with a fantastic rocket from distance.
