Have Simonstown found their new head coach?
Simonstown Gaels are on the look out for a new manager for their senior football team after Ciaran Kenny stepped down from the role and this week they welcomed Hawthorn head coach Alastair Clarkson to their club on the outskirts of Navan 'for a look around their facilities' - coincidence?
Of course it is.
Clarkson and his fellow Hawks coach Rob McCarthy are visiting Ireland and were shown around the Navan clubs magnificent facilities on the Proudstown Road by, amongst others, Conor Nash who is of course one of the rising stars in Aussie Rules with the Melbourne based Hawthorn club.

If Clarkson was looking for any managerial advice he certainly sought out the right man with two-time Keegan Cup winning manager and Meath legend Colm O'Rourke also on hand to show the visiting Australians around and offer some pearls of his infinite footballing wisdom.
Nash is home from Australia for a brief holiday before he embarks on a tour of Europe on route back to Australia to begin preparations of the new A FL season which will start on Thursday 21st March.
Last week the Meath Chronicle's Jimmy Geoghegan caught up with Nash when he was the guest of honour at a pre-match meal prior to Navan's AIL Div 2A win over Blackrock, you can read his interview here.
