Meath camogie players will have to stretch a bit more to survive in Div 1

Camogie team face relegation play-off for survival

The only Meath GAA team playing in the top League in 2018 is facing a major battle for survival.

Meath hosted Kilkenny in the National Camogie League Div 1 today at Trim and were well beaten with the Cats taking a comfortable 2-19 to 0-6 victory.

Meath only trailed by nine points (0-2 to 0-11) at the interval after playing against a strong wind, but the concession of two early second-half goals finished any chances of a Meath revival.

SUMMARY OF MEATH TEAMS
Of the four county teams, only the camogie team is currently in National League Div 1 and a relegation play-off
is next on the horizon for manager John Davis and his team.

The other county teams are seeded as follows:
Andy McEntee's footballers are in Div 2; Nick Fitzgerald's hurlers are in Div 2A (the third grade) and the Ladies football team is in Div 3.

The ladies football team had a big win today against a Leitrim side that only had 15 players for the game at Dunganny, but the camogie team faced a strong Kilkenny side and lost.
