Burst water mains hits Ratoath supply
Irish Water and Meath County Council working to repair a burst in Ratoath
Irish Water and Meath County Council are working to repair a burst water main at Abbey Road Duleek which supplies Ratoath and the surrounding areas. Customers in Ratoath, Fairyhouse Road, Kilbride, Curragha and Kilbrew and surrounding areas will have an interruption to their water supply from mid-morning today.
"Crews are currently on site to carry out the repair and supply is expected to be restored by 6pm today. Traffic management is in place to facilitate the repair work. Once the repair is complete it may take late into tonight or early Friday morning for all customers on high lying ground to have their fully water supply restored," an Irish Water spokesperson said.
"Irish Water and Meath County Council would like to apologise to customers affected by this unplanned burst. Crews have worked hard to complete repairs and all available resources are being utilised to minimise disruption and restore supply to affected customers as quickly as possible."
The supply and service section of the Irish Water website, www.water.ie, will be updated as repairs continue throughout the day. Any customer with a query in relation to this unplanned burst can contact the Irish Water customers care line on 1850 278 278 or on Twitter @IWCare.
