Kilmessan win well against Trim
Kilmessan issued a statement of intent this evening in Pairc Tailteann where they got back to winning ways in the SHC with a merited 4-18 to 1-13 victory against Trim.
Kilmessan obviously learned the lessons from the defeat by Dunboyne in the last round when they faded in the final 10 minutes and were overhauled on that occasion.
This time around they made no mistake - they were ahead by 2-6 to 0-9 at the interval with the goals coming from Darren Reilly and Kevin Keena.
Trim's James Toher picked up a knock in the opening half and struggled on after the break before eventually limping out of the game in the closing stages, Trim were also without Alan Douglas.
Joey Keena scored early and late second-half goals for Kilmessan as they kept a tight rein on the contest and Trim flattered briefly at the three-quarter stage after Brian Dowling got a goal, but the flourish didn't last.
Full details in the Chronicle out next Tuesday.
REQUEST TO BOTH CLUBS
To Kilmessan - dump the jerseys as it is impossible to read the numbers at distance  - after almost every score it was a matter of trying to find out who the scorer was - you got 22 scores and the distraction had an impact on trying to watch the game.
To Trim - when providing the team details can you make sure the number corresponds with the player. In this game 8, 9, 13 and 15 were incorrectly identified as far as I could work out. It reflects badly on your club more so than on my ability to get the facts correct.Â
