Elliott overhauled in race for NH title
Meath trainer Gordon Elliott was out of luck on the second day of the Punchestown Festival today as he drew a blank in terms or winners.
Defending champion trainer Willie Mullins finished day two of the Punchestown Festival on a high and is now considered a long odds-on favourite
to retain the trainers' championship after winning six of the day's seven races.
The only non-Mullins-trained winner was provided by Meath handler Matthew Smith from Kilmessan (see separate story).
Mullins began today €405,839 behind the Summerhill man, but finished in the lead with a €48,161 advantage.
Today's attendance was 19,073, compared to 19,366 on the same day last year.
