Smith to launch EP in new year
The Paddy Smith Blues Band will be launching their new EP on the 14th January at the Central Bar, Navan.
The film - 'Let Those Blues In' - is based on Smith's amazing life story is also now available on line.
The film outlines his struggle to overcome alcoholism and how he emerged from the haze to build a career in music and re-build his life.
In recent years he has given up alcohol and in this way he has emerged as an inspirational figure.
Smith, who lives in Navan, has established himself as one of the top blues harmonica players around since he returned home to Ireland some years ago.
He was the driving force behind the setting up of the first Blues Festival which was held in Causey Farm, Fordstown near Kells in September.
Earlier this year Smith and his band released an EP - 'Ran Out Of Road.' He has also brought out his own album called 'Let Those Blues In' which features his own superbly-crafted blues songs.
A regular performer at gigs in Meath and the Dublin area, Smith has built up a loyal following.
