Gardai investigate alleged abduction in Ardee
Gardai are investigating an alleged attempted abduction yesterday after a number of calls were made to the 999 Emergency line indicating that a male was being forcefully placed in the rear of a Toyota Avensis car by three males. The location of this incident is known as the Ardee Link Road (N33) which bypasses Ardee and leads to the M1 Motorway. The alleged incident took place at 5.30pm.
From witnesses Gardai have established that a silver Mercedes car was travelling towards the M1 when the car was struck from behind by a second car, a grey Toyota Avensis. Three males then forcefully removed the driver of the Mercedes into their vehicle.
The grey Toyota Avensis left in the direction of the Motorway.
The injured party in this case was released a short time later and did not require any medical attention. The matter is under investigation by the Gardai at Ardee.
Gardai wish to appeal to any person travelling on the Ardee Link Road N33 between 5pm and 6pm on the 25/10/16 that saw anything unusual or suspicions, including the movement of the cars, to contact the Garda at Ardee on 041 6853222, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
