Top American high school team to arrive at Knightsbrook Hotel on Wednesday
One of the six top high school teams who will play a regular season match as part of the American Football Showcase Dublin on this Friday 2nd September will arrive from the United States this week and stay at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.
The Marist School from Atlanta, Georgia will stay at the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.
There will be a formal welcoming ceremony for the American high school players, coaches and party (96 players and 28 adults) at 6.45pm at the Knightsbrook Hotel on Wednesday (31st August).
The traveling party will also visit Trim Castle and will practice at the Trim GAA club at 4pm.
Donnybrook Stadium will play host to the triple-header of high school American Football games, which kick-off at 11am, 2pm and 5pm on Friday, with all proceeds being donated to Special Olympics Ireland.
On Thursday the High School teams will practice at University College Dublin with the games scheduled for Donnybrook Stadium on Friday
11am: Westminster School (Atlanta, Georgia) v Community School Naples (Florida);
2pm: Blessed Trinity (Atlanta, Georgia) v St Peter’s Prep (New Jersey)
5pm: Marist School (Atlanta, Georgia) v Belen Jesuit (Miami, Florida).
Admission to Donnybrook Stadium is free and adults may make a voluntary donation of €10 with all proceeds being donated to Special Olympics Ireland.
The three games will mark the opening of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, taking place at the Aviva Stadium the following day, Saturday 3rd September.
