Sheila Lavery sets Meath theme at Naas
Agher, Summerhill-based trainer Sheila Lavery saw her Mr Scarlet win the opener at Naas this evening on a card where five of the winners (have to include Johnny Murtagh on a night when Bohermeen men performed well) had strong Meath connections.
Mr Scarlet was the first leg of a double for jockey Gary Carroll (who also has strong Meath connections).
Sheila Lavery was thrilled with the victory of Mr Scarlett which was fourth at Fairyhouse 10 days ago behind the Ger Lyons-trained Noivado and collected almost €10,000 tonight which will go towards recouping the trainer's €72,000 purchase.
Ger Lyons and Colin Keane were on the mark when they won the last with Endless Drama while there was also success for Eddie Lynam and Pat Downey.
Pat Downey has the versatile Three Bells in winning from again and Gary Carroll did the steering.
Eddie Lynam had the favourite in the race won by Three Bells but his Future Icon was fourth.
However, there was compensation for the Dunshaughlin handler in the next when he sent Fort Del Oro to win the valuable Dark Angel Stakes (Listed). The trainer also saddled Lady Mega (fourth) and Byzantium (sixth) in the race.
Johnny Murtagh's winner was Peacehaven in a six-furlong maiden.
