Musicals show success for charities
Producer/director Joan Larkin and the cast and crew of 'OMG Broadway' had a very successful two night run in Solstice, Navan. The crowds were on their feet at the end of both shows, and the cast took three curtain calls each night to whoops and cheers from appreciative audiences. The cast was particularly teary eyed after Saturday night's performance when one of the younger members of the cast, seven year old Ruby O'Kelly barely kept the tears in check as she gazed around her at the cast and at the audience in front of her. Earlier that night she had sung 'When she loved me' from 'Toy Story' and had received a standing ovation for her performance. The cast and crew performed every scene and every song to perfection. During the interval the people enjoying complimentary OMG Broadway cakes. Joan Larkin said: "Saturday night was my birthday and I couldn't have hoped for a better birthday gift than the sight of a full house and people on their feet applauding the months and months of hard work we all put into this production." The charities that benefit from the concerts, Last Hope Animals and Meath River Rescue had information stands in the foyer of Solstice and reported a lot of interest from the public in the great work they do.
