Meath GAA Hall of Fame 2015 - joint winners
Navan O'Mahonys star Stephen Bray picked up the Footballer of the Year for 2015 at the annual Meath GAA awards in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan last night where there was a joint-presentation of the highly-regarded Hall of Fame to David Carty (Skryne) and Jim Gilligan (Dunsgaughlin).
David Carty produced a two-volume history of Skryne GAA club - The Blue Kings of Tara.
Jim Gilligan (with assistance from Patsy McLoughlin) produced a history of the GAA in the Dunshaughlin parish - Black & Amber.
Other awards were also presented as follows:
Hurler of the Year was Kiltale’s Jack Regan who was the first player to complete a two in-a-row since Kilmessan's Nicky Horan in 1996 and 1997.
Na Fianna’s Peter Slevin took the Young Hurler of the Year award while the football equivalent when to James McEntee (Curraha).
Given their extended run in the Leinster Club JFC as well as topping the A FL Div 4 table and winning the Meath JFC and Tailteann Cup it is no surprise that
Curraha took the Club of the Yearaward while Trim GAA club took the Ground of the Year accolade.
Kildalkey’s Nick Fitzgerald was named Referee of the Year but was unable to attend while the Most Improved Referee award was presented to Liam Reddy from Duleek/Bellewstown who officiated at some 51 games this year.
Seneschalstown received a new Public Relations Club Award.
