KFC on way to Navan?
KFC, the world's largest largest fried chicken chain, could be on its way to Navan, as a planning application has been made for the construction of a drive-through fast food outlet at Brews Hill. If passed, it would be located on the former Irish National Forresters Hall site which had accommodated a petrol filling station in the past decade but which has been used as a car park in recent years by Navan Town Council. Lodged under the name Herbel Eastern Ireland Ltd, the application was made just days before Christmas and seeks to construct a single-storey drive-through outlet, with an ancillary external yard as well as an associated drive-through lane. The proposed development would also includes signage areas, 33 car parking spaces and landscaping works at the Brews Hill site. KFC has over 17,000 outlets in 105 countries around the world and is the second largest restaurant chain globally after McDonalds.
