Dromone take top award

Dromone Engineering was named the 2012 Business of the Year at the Pillo Hotel, Ashbourne, on Thursday night at the third annual Meath Business and Tourism awards. The company, based near Oldcastle, took the overall accolade ahead of some strong competition at the event which attracted over 260 guests.

Meghan Smith, the editor of Forum, south Meath's free newspaper and part of the Celtic Media Group stable of titles, announced the overall winner from nine separate business categories. Dromone Engineering, which manufactures pick-up hitches for equipment in the agricultural and construction sectors, pulled off a major coup during the summer when it landed a €9.7 million contract from the Agco Group in France.
