A fl div 3 title for ballinabrackey
Ballinabrackey took the A FL Div 3 Cummins Cup home from Navan this evening when they proved too strong for Meath Hill in a lively decider at Páirc Tailteann.
Under the guidance of Offaly man Tony Dalton, Ballinabrackey were always in control of this game although they had to maintain their concentration against a battling Meath Hill side.
Ballinabrackey were ahead by 1-9 to 1-5 at the interval with Derek McMahon scoring an early goal for the Hill and Damien Carroll replying with a good goal seven minutes before the interval.
At the three-quarter stage Ballinabrackey were ahead by eight points (1-14 to 1-6), but Meath Hill kept picking off the points to stay in touch.
Both teams get back to championship action in a fortnight and will benefit from this competitive encounter.
