Narrow wins for Kilmessan and Killyon
Kilmessan and Killyon both ended their SHC group campaigns on winning notes as they scored victories over Na Fianna and Longwood respectively at Trim this evening. Killyon maintained their 100 per cent record in SHC group B with a narrow 0-11 to 0-10 win over Longwood. The win secured Killyon's place in the semi-finals, but there was also joy for Longwood as they advanced to the quarter-finals following Dunboyne's easy win over Boardsmill. There was no such drama surrounding the first game at Trim as Kilmessan had already secured the runner-up spot in group A, while Na Fianna were condemned to a relegation play-off. With nothing on offer the game was low-key with Nicky Horan leading the scoring for Kilmessan with 1-9, while Barry Slevin notched nine points in Na Fianna's 2-13 to 2-14 loss.
