Meath to face Down
Meath will continue their preparations for 2013 when they tackle Down in a SF challenge at Newry on Saturday. After a couple of tests in the Fitzsimons Cup against Cavan and Offaly, Meath trained on Sunday 23rd December before taking a few days off for Christmas and returning to training on Thursday 27th December. Saturday's game against Down will be the final challenge match before the start of the O'Byrne Cup campaign which will begin on Sunday 6th January with a trip to Ballymahon to take on Longford at 2.0. Meath will then have a second O'Byrne Cup game against Louth in Páirc Táilteann on Wednesday 9th January (7.30) before facing UCD in Páirc Táilteann on Sunday 13th January in the final O'Byrne Cup group game. A potential O'Byrne Cup semi-final is fixed for Sunday 20th January with the final scheduled for Sunday 27th January ahead of the start of the NFL Div 3 campaign away to Mongahan in Clones on Sunday 3rd February.
