Silver and bronze for kelly brady
Bohermeen AC’s Kelly Brady bagged silver and bronze medals in the u-19 hammer and shot putt events respectively at the All-Ireland Juvenile Track & Field Championships at Tullamore last weekend.
In the hammer event Brady, who is competing in her last year at juvenile level, threw an excellent 44.31m to take silver and later in the afternoon she threw 9.84m in the shot to take bronze.
Brady will now contest the National Senior Championships in August.
Dunshaughlin's Paddy Maher and Niamh Hetherington got into the medals with some excellent displays.
Maher took silver in the u-17 3,000m to record a personal best by almost 11 seconds. His time was nine minutes, 4.07 seconds.
Hetherington secured the bronze in the u-19 100m in a time of 12.67 seconds and she went on to secure fourth place in the 200m final in 26.38 seconds.
Dunboyne's Ian Taylor threw an impressive 45.50m in the hammer event to secure silver for the fourth successive year.
