There was widespread sadness following the death of Mrs Rose Rispin, Grange, Bohermeen, Navan at St James's Hospital, Dublin on 13th April last, aged 84. Following her marriage to Mr Pat Rispin in 1957, Rose moved from her native Tullamore, Co Offaly to Bohermeen where they resided for the past 55 years. Deceased was a woman of great faith and supported the church throughout her life. An active member of her community, Rose was involved in many organisations, groups and charities. She was president of the Bohermeen Apostolic Society for over 50 years and was presented with the Benemerenti Award for her apostolic work and contribution to the missions. This award was presented to her by Bishop Michael Smith. It was a major award which brought pride to Bohermeen Apolostic Society. During her many years she did a lot of fundraising and her favourite charities were Bothar and National Council of the Blind. She was also involved in the ICA, school board, Community Centre Committee and many other local and national charities. A reflexologist for over 25 years, Mrs Rispin was one of the first people to bring reflexology into Ireland. She appeared on the Late Late Show in the late 1980s promoting reflexology. She set up the Navan school of healing, energy and light, where she designed and delivered training in reflex practice to people around Ireland. She also delivered shorter reflexology training for Meath VEC. People came from all around to get a reflexology treatment and have a chat with her. Deceased was a very hospitable lady who always welcomed everybody to her home throughout her life. People felt comfortable in her presence, as she had great empathy and nothing phased her. She was an excellent cook and many had the pleasure of enjoying the fruits of her labour. Family was very important to Mrs Rispin. She loved having her children and grandchildren around. She was always interested in what they were doing and had time for everybody. She is survived by her husband, Pat: sons, Andrew, Seamus, Danny, Ned; daughters, Mary Murphy, Annie Ryan and Loreto Martin; sisters Sr Josephine O'Brien (Loreto, Chicago), Sr Ann Marie (Mercy, Navan), Sr Corona (MMM Drogheda); brothers, Fr Rory O'Brien (St Patrick's, Kiltegan), Michael and Ted (Tullamore); sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchild, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Donal, and her sister Sr Loreto (MMM, Drogheda), and her grandchild, Niall Rispin. Her funeral mass St Ultan's Church, Bohermeen was concelebrated by her brother, Fr Rory O'Brien, assisted by Fr Andy Doyle PP, Fr Phonsie Mackin PE, Fr Eamon O'Brien, Fr Ted Smith SPS, Fr Vincent McNamara, Fr Stan Connolly, Fr Ned Daly PE and Fr Thomas O'Connor SPS. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. A month's memory Mass will take place on Sunday next, 6th May in Bohermeen Church at 11.30am. ___________________________________________________________ Bridget O'Malley, Allenstown The regretted death occurred on St Patrick's Day, 17th March last, of Mrs Bridget O'Malley, Allenstown, Kells, at her daughter Mary's residence, Allenstown, aged 95 years. Wife of the late Paddy O'Malley, who died in October 1997, she was born in Jarrow in the North of England in 1916 as Bridget Kerrigan. Her family moved to Cloughbrack in Co Galway in 1929, where she spent many happy years. They moved to Meath in 1940, and she spent the war years in London with her sister, Marie. She returned to Ireland and then went to Minnesota, USA in 1949, and spent six years with her sister, Ellen, working at Minnesota Mining Ltd. Deceased returned to Ireland, and on Easter Monday 1956, married Paddy O'Malley. She will be remembered as a great neighbour and friend to many, and enjoyed life to the full, loving to travel. Mrs O'Malley was enthusiastic about everything she did. She was a member of the Bohermeen Apostolic Class and the Legion of Mary, and a committed Pioneer Total Abstinence Association member. In her later years, she enjoyed attending the various day care centres, most recently the Alzheimers Day Care Centre at Whistlemount, Navan, where the staff was wonderful to her. She is survived by her daughters, Mary O'Malley and Brigid Mackin; sons-in-law, Kevin Costello and Johnny Mackin; brother, Mark Kerrigan; sister, Ellen Kenny and Marie Boyle, both America; grandchildren, Darren, Ronan, Emmett, Conor and Beau Costello, and Mary, Fiona, Sarah and Grainne Mackin; sister-in-law, Maggie Mulroe; brother-in-law, Johnny O'Malley; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Ultan's Church, Bohermeen, to the adjoining cemetery. ____________________________________________________________ Máire Fox (formerly Dungan), Kells and Skerries The funeral takes place in Kells on Monday next of Mrs Máire Fox, formerly Dungan, mother of RTE broadcaster Myles Dungan, who passed away at Gormanston Wood Nursing Home on Saturday 28th April last. Mrs Fox's first husband, Mr Bill Dungan, was a bank manager of the Northern Bank branch in Kells, and died while playing golf at Headfort Golf Club in 1964. He had previously been manager in Kingscourt of over 15 years, and was in his fifties. Mrs Fox's father was Dr T O'Reilly, Medical Health Officer for the Cavan area. Living in Skerries in latter years, she was also predeceased by her second husband, Richard Denis Fox, her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Niall and Myles; daughters, Teri and Fiona; daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral Mass takes place on bank holiday Monday 7th May, in St Colmcille's Church at 12 noon, followed by burial in St Colmcille's Cemetery. ___________________________________________________________ Kathleen Rennicks, Cookstown There was widespread shock and sorrow following the death of Mrs Kathleen Rennicks, Cookstown, Kells, on 12th April last, aged 70, at Cookstown. A native of Cookstown, she was a member of the McHugh family. Deceased spent many of her working years in Tara Mines, while rearing and caring for her children and family. She was an active member of the Cortown parish community and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, following her sons playing club and county football, and dancing. Mrs Rennicks was a lady with great faith and was devoted to the Divine Mercy. In her later years, she cared for her grandchildren and was known to many children near and far as 'Granny Kathleen' . She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Joseph and Liam; daughter, Maria; daughter-in-law, Mary; sister, Patty; brothers, Hugh and Matt; grandchildren, Mark, Mikey, Lauren and Laoise; extended family, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from Cortown Church to Cortown Cemetery. A month's memory Mass takes place on Sunday 20th May at 10.15 am in Cortown Church. ___________________________________________________________ Anna Glennon, Trim There was widespread sadness following the sudden death of Mrs Anna Glennon, Manorlands, Trim, at the age of 45 at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, on 3rd April last. Deceased was a member of the McManus family of Oberstown, Tara, and worked for 20 years at Gifts and Gadgets on Haggard Street, Trim, where her job was her hobby, as she enjoyed it so much. She loved animals and her affinity with cats and dogs was legendary. Deceased will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbour who will be missed by all. Mrs Glennon was daughter of Ann and the late Kevin McManus, Oberstown, and is survived by her husband, John; sons, Gary and Sean and stepson, Raymond; mother, Ann; sister, Ellen; brothers, Eddie and Nigel; mother-in-law, Mary Glennon; aunts; uncles; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and a large circle of friends. The funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Trim, to St Loman's Cemetery, celebrated by Fr Sean Henry, PP, Trim, and Fr Tom O'Mahony, PP, Skryne. Vocalist was Matt Leavy. ___________________________________________________________ Audrey Gibney, Navan The passing of Mrs Audrey Gibney, Abbeygrove, Navan, at the age of 46, was the cause of widespread sorrow. A member of the Proctor family of Navan, she died at home on 6th April last following a long illness. She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Alicia and Danielle; parents, Noel and Margaret; sister, Karen; brothers, Keith, James and Pierce; mother-in-law, Mary; father-in-law, Gerry; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. The funeral took place from St Mary's Church, Navan, to Old Kilcarn Cemetery, Navan. A month's memory Mass will take place on Saturday 5th May, at 6pm, in St Mary's Church. ___________________________________________________________ Mary O'Connor, Kinnegad Much sadness was evoked by the passing of Mrs Mary O'Connor, Park, Kinnegad, on 17th April last, at Sancta Maria Nursing Home, Park, Kinnegad. A native of Co Mayo, Mrs O'Connor (nee Loftus) is survived by her husband, Kevin; sons, John, Kevin, Finian and Thomas; daughters, Lucy and Edel, grandchildren; sister, Teresa; brother, Kevin; nieces and nephews; extended family in Meath, Mayo and the United States; family, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her son, Gerard. The funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, Ballinabrackey, with interment afterwards in St Finian's Cemetery, Clonard. ___________________________________________________________ Margaret Campbell, Trim The death at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, of Mrs Margaret (Rita) Campbell, Navan Gate, Trim, on 31st March last, was the source of considerable regret. Aged 88, she was formerly Lane and was predeceased by her husband, Peter Campbell, in April 1994. Deceased was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Dixon, Muchwood, Ballivor; sons, Billy, Castle Abbey, Trim; Peter, Mornington Heights, Trim; son-in-law, PJ; daughters-in-law, Janet and Claire; grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Trim, to St Loman's Cemetery.
