International flavour at dunboyne athletics event
Darragh Rennicks (pictured) and Emilia Dan will be among the athletes expected to feature for Meath in the Leinster Senior and Junior Cross-Country Championships at the Cow Park, Dunboyne on Sunday.
Also included in the day's schedule are the Celtic International Cross-Country races at u-17, u-20 and u-23 levels with teams from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland participating.
Rennicks and Dan go into the championship having recently won the Meath Senior Cross-Country titles in their respective categories.
Meath teams will take part at senior and junior levels in both the men's and women's categories with athletes such as Thomas Moran, Paddy Maher, Shauna Moore and Ciara Rooney among those selected.
Meath Athletics PRO Tommy McDonnell has urged clubs to do all they can to facilitate the participation of their athletes in the championships.
'It is imperative that clubs whose athletes have been honoured by selection on the various Meath teams should ensure that they are available on the day,' he said.
The first race of the day, at under-age level, starts at 12.0.
