Summer racing at Bellewstown

Summer has arrived to Ireland and it will soon be time to make the pilgrimage to the 'Hill of Crockafotha' for some top quality horseracing at fun-filled Bellewstown Races from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July. The superb one mile, one furlong left handed course features both flat and hurdle racing and as usual will attract top class horses for this highlight of the racing festival season. As always the Bellewstown organising committee have ensured that there will be something for everyone at the races with the Best Dressed Lady prize on offer on the Friday evening. There will also be prizes for the Best Dressed Man, and a Miss Teen Bellewstown award. Friday evening's racing will also feature the Heineken Inter-Pub Challenge Race, where each pub entered will be represented by a horse in the race and winning horse will secure a party night for its nominated pub. Saturday evening's racing has been labelled 'Singles Night', in conjunction with Buck Mooneys Hens & Stag Parties. In the Marquee the Classic Beatles, who are one of Europe's best Beatles tribute act, will entertain the masses. Saturday evening will also be 'Clubs Night' where soccer, rugby or GAA clubs can use this fun and sociable event to raise funds and have a great night out. Any clubs interested in taking part should contact Kevin Coleman for further details. An afternoon family day is in store for the final day of racing on Sunday 8th July, when racegoers will be treated to a fun packed day of entertainment for all the family. This will be a very special day for children (who enjoy free admission) with an animal petting farm with pot belly black pigs, goats, miniature ponies and rabbits all laid on free of charge. Also making a guest appearance will be Mr Tayto and his friends. There is an exclusive offer available in the corporate marquee on Sunday, where the venue has been set aside for clubs, charities, community groups and organisations who wish to fundraise by hosting tables on that day. Admission on each days racing is only €15 with OAP/Students at €8, children go free when accompanied by an adult. There are also several other packages available and details are available from Kevin Coleman on (041) 984211 or email klaybell@eircom.net
