Taoiseach displays 'arrogance of power'

Did anybody hear our (and our being the important word) leader Enda Kenny on Wednesday 7th September last on RTE Morning Ireland? Telling us he will level with the people, but not just yet, as he failed to answer any question he was asked about cuts and savings in the forthcoming budget. In that same interview he displayed an arrogance of power, a sense that he speaks to the people in sufferance, out of superficial obligation rather then in a voice of a servant addressing his master (we the Irish people are his and his governments masters). The name CJ Haughey sprang to mind and all his sins of greed and self importance flashed before me as I cringed as I listened to Enda Kenny debase the office of Taoiseach. It suddenly dawned on me in the course of Wednesdays interview that all the Labour and Fine Gael election promises are all on the table, once more the Irish people have been sucker punched by a government whose only interest is to protect the powerful. His attempt to "Don't blame me it was like this when I got here" and there are "lots of other people making these decisions besides me" not to mention his attempts to implicate the Irish people at large for what had happened was pathetic to say the least. Why as a nation of proud people do we continue to put up with this waffle and spin while our great country and her people are "rail roaded" towards economy oblivion by a bunch of "duckers and divers" who only have the interest of the rich and powerful at heart. The honeymoon is over - wake up and smell the coffee. Yours, Mel Devlin Alexander Reid, Johnstown, Navan.
