'Terrorist attack' on Quinn CEO's home
The Ratoath home of a Quinn Group CEO was attacked on Monday night of this week in what the company has described as a "terrorist attack". At around 11pm a lone, male figure approached the home of Paul O'Brien, who is believed to be out of the country, and jumped the wall of his Fox Lodge home carrying two jerry cans of what is thought to be petrol. CCTV footage captured a man of average height dousing the petrol over a BMW X5 jeep and a smaller amount over a Ford S-Max which were parked in the driveway. He ignited the fluid on the BMW X5 and jumped back over the wall and observed the flames, after using a stick to stoke the fire. The X5 went up ablaze but the flames did only superficial damage to the S-Max. At 11.15pm Ashbourne Fire Service got a call and rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames. The X5 was by this stage beyond repair and there was fire damage to the front of the house. To ready more on this story see this week's Meath Chronicle.
