Meath girls open with a victory

Meath girls were on the winning track in their opening round of the Leinster Ladies Minor Football Championship at Dunganny this afternoon where they proved too strong for Laois.

The Meath girls won by 5-8 to 0-9 on the astro turf at Dunganny and will now face Wexford in the second round next Saturday in the three-team group.

The Meath selectors - James Minnock (manager), Donal Scanlon, Jackie Sheridan and Sean Ryan had plenty to be pleased about as this was a solid performance by the girls.

LADIES NFL DIV 2 

Tomorrow's Ladies NFL Div 2 game against Kildare will be played at Hawkfield (Newbridge) and not Carbury as originally scheduled.

Meath will be bidding to make it two-in-a-row after last week's victory over Cavan.
