Stewards' enquiry may be requested by Moylagh

St Brigid’s manager Jim Hyland (pictured) may have to wait for a 'winner alright’ after the events that surrounded last Friday night's JFC game against Moylagh at Millbrook.

Meath Co Board could be facing a tricky problem as it is understood that the Ballinacree side replaced a red-carded player in the closing stages.

St Brigid’s won by a point in what was a tight game in front of a passionate crowd at the well-appointed Oldcastle venue.

While Moylagh lost on the pitch, they may have a legitimate claim for an examination of the facts as it appears that after a St Brigid’s player was red-carded, he was replaced by a substitute.

To make the matter even more unpalatable for Moylagh, the replacement St Brigid’s player, who may have been illegal, was involved in the move that produced the winning point for the Ballinacree side.

It’s anticipated that the Co Board may be in a position to consider the referee’s report later this week.

It is not known at this stage whether Moylagh intend to appeal or protest about the matter.
