Trim Celtic Rocked!

Trim Celtic lost narrowly last night to Rock Celtic in the MDL Premier clash where the hosts recovered from a heavy defeat by Navan Cosmos last week for a 1-0 victory.

Derek Delaney scored the vital goal and despite the best efforts of Derek Donohoe and James Goggons Trim couldn’t muster an equaliser.

Longwood also lost out in the Premier when they were eclipsed by Boyne Harps at Albion Rovers ground with Ross McEntaggart finding the net in the second-half.

Longwood remain anchored at the foot of the table with zero points.

WEDNESDAY
Athboy Celtic produced a fantastic performance as they edged out hosts Navan Town in a five-goal midweek Kilmessan Shield thriller.

Victory was sufficient to earn an impressive Athboy side a place in the knock-out phase of a competition they have never won.

Darren Molloy, Sean Smith and Colm Carney scored the goals for Athboy with Donal Callan from a penalty and Ben McDermott on the mark for a disappointing Navan Town.

Trim Celtic joined Athboy in the knock-out phase with a 3-1 victory over Robinstown with a reserve selection as they had already qualified.

Goals from Joey Corrigan, Thomas Farrell and Paul Allen gave Trim Celtic the win with Brian Brereton replying for Robinstown.

Defending champions Kingscourt made hard work of their 3-2 victory over Ardee Celtic with the Louth men on the mark through Allen Udejiole and Robert Coyle.

Kingscourt replied through Niall Babington, Darren McCabe and Robbie Rowntree.

Duleek hit Black Bull for six with Anthony Burke and Junior Francisco both grabbing two goals apiece as well as Bryan Murphy and Jamie McCormack.

Newfoundwell qualified for the knock-out phase with a 3-1 victory over Abbey 3-1 with goals from Ciaran Carroll, Eoghan Mulroy and Gary Smith while Kevin McGeough scored for Abbey.
