Lily strikes again
Trim owners Clodagh and Kevin Mitchell were celebrating another victory Lily's Angel yesterday when the filly won well at Kempton and landed the Betfred Snowdrop Fillies' Stakes for jockey Gary Carroll.
Lily's Angel seems to like travelling as she also won at the Dubai Carnival last January.
Lily's Angel was sent off the 5/2 favourite and made it five wins from seven starts, and a third Listed win, for Kiltale trainer Ger Lyons.
The four year old hit the front in the straight and she was well on top at the line ahead of Stirring Ballad and Love Your Looks in third.
'We're three from three here now and I'm sure we'll come back. The plan had been the group three in Ireland, but she doesn't like sitting in her box, and even with the penalty, she was 6lb 'well-in' here,' commented Shane Lyons, brother of Ger.
'I got a nice position and she travelled really well, she always does. When she has something to run at she puts her head down and battles hard. I'm five from seven on her now, she has been very good to me,' said jockey Gary Carroll, a grandson of the late Frankie Carroll from Kildalkey.
