Meath edged out

Meath's bid for back-to-back All-Ireland titles faltered at Banagher today when they were edged out by a strong Limerick side in the semi-final of the Intermediate Championship.

There was no shame in Meath's exit, they were defeated by a physically stronger and technically better Limerick side who were more clinical with their finishing and made the most of a couple of goal chances in the second-half.

Meath were adrift by 0-2 to 0-8 at the interval and conceded a goal soon after the resumption, but still battled back to trail by 0-5 to 1-8 with 20 minutes remaining.

Limerick managed a second goal 10 minutes from time following a gallant effort by Meathj and that score effectively finished the game as a contest.
