Late Smith point earns Drumbaragh a second chance
Drumbaragh and Kilmainham will have to do it all over again on Wednesday night following today's JFC final at Pairc Táilteann ended in a draw following 60 minutes of competitive football.
Drumbaragh midfielder John Smith drew the sides level in the second minute of added time when he converted a free out of his hands seconds ahead of the final whistle.
Kilmainham's second-half goal gave them the initiative after the sides turned over on level terms (0-5 each) at the interval, but Drumbaragh battled back to parity by full-time on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-12.
Mark Fallon scored Kilmainham's goal and Michael Newman was their top scorer with six points while Smith and Darragh McNamara managed four points each for Drumbaragh.
Both managers, John Tiernan and Finian Murtagh, were please to get another chance and both suggested that their team will perform better in the replay.
