Meath face crunch tie against Tyrone
Meath will play Tyrone in the fourth round of the All-Ireland SFC at Croke Park next Saturday, throw-in 7pm, after the Ulster side negotiated Kildare by 1-11 to 0-12 in the third round at Newbridge on Saturday evening.
Tyrone had to battle for victory although they were well incontrol at half-time with a 1-6 to 0-14 lead after Matthew Donnelly's goal gave them an early boost.
Kildare reeled off five quick second-half points to level the tie at 0-9 to 1-6 and then Tyrone had a penalty well saved.
In front of more than 7,000 supporters Kildare were unable to seize the initiative and finished with 14 men after Peter Kelly was red-carded.
Tyrone remained composed and will now head to Dublin for the second game in a double-header next Saturday.
