Ratoath win as champions draw
Ratoath turned on the style to get the better of Moynalvey 2-12 to 1-10 in the SFC at Skryne this evening while earlier today St Colmcille's and Dunboyne drew, 1-12 to 0-15.
Two first-half goals from Cian O'Brien and Cian Rogers helped Ratoath lead 2-6 to 0-7 at the interval in their game in warm conditions and they pushed on to wrap up their victory.
Bryan McMahon was in excellent form for the winners scoring five points, three frees, with his scorching runs a feature of the game.
Moynalvey also had players like Padraic Harnan and Cillian McLoughlin who were well capable of storming runs. Late on O'Sullivan put in a late run and was hauled down for a penalty which the same player despatched to the net.
However, by that stage the game was nearly up and the goal was to prove no more than a consolation.
Earlier today in Stamullen St Colmcille's and Dunboyne fought out a tough, close encounter. St Colmcille's led for most of the way with the help of a Jack Reynolds goal but with players such as Rob McCarthy, David McEntee and Donal Lenihan clipping over points for Dunboyne they kept in touch.
Deep into injury time Liam Byrne fired over the equalising point to salvage something for the reigning champions who won't be happy with this display.
