Moynalty winner at Punchestown
The celebrations are underway in north Meath this evening after the Moynalty Partnership enjoyed a winner at Punchestown today.
The Tom Gibney-trained Stoughan Cross landed a handicap hurdle after reverting to the smaller obstacles due to a lack of opportunities over fences.
The 11-year-old was partnered by claimer Oakley Brown who subseueently got handed a five-day suspension as he was unable to claim the full allowance and had to go with 10-6 instead of 10-4.
It didn't have any impact and the jockey recorded his second winner in five days on the Gibney runner which beat the favourite Declan Queally-trained Moll Dote by a length.
“He was well-in compared to his chase mark and he hits a bit of good form every year," stated the trainer.
“We only ran him in a hurdle because there were no suitable chases coming up," he added.
