Shamrock Festival launches promo video on YouTube
The committee of www.navanshamrockfestival.com is preparing for another action packed festival and have released this year's promotional video on Youtube.
This year, local group Ceol Tec from Athboy set about the task of taking a well known dance track and remixing it into a trad version. Joining them in the promotional video is Patrick Coyne a dancer from Riverdance, who has a Bodhran dance off with Kane O'Rourke & DJ Ian Booth of Ceol Tec.
This was a collaborative project steered by Gigs Ireland, following a particular brief from a committee member Paddy Pryle.
Tracey Hanby of Gigs Ireland explains: 'I had an idea of what I was looking for and set about finding the right group for the job! I was recommended to look at Ceol Tec. After watching a video of them perform on TG4, I knew they could make a Trad remix of Martin Solveig's well known song 'Hello' just in time for St Patricks weekend.'
With special thanks to Bad Apple Films, based in Co Meath, the Trad version comes to life with a live performance of the track and really brings you into the festive spirit on the run up to the Navan Shamrock Festival. For more information please check www.navanshamrockfestival.com
