Manager's address to delegates postponed

Meath senior football manager Mick O'Dowd's scheduled address to Co Board delegates at tonight's meeting at Áras Tailteann in Navan was postponed.

Members of the Executive Committee convened briefly ahead of the meeting and decided to advise the manager that they were postponing his scheduled address.

The turnout of delegates at the meeting was less than the normal amount and because of that it was decided to contact the manager and tell him not to attend.

The manager addressed the delegates shortly after his appointment last year and on that occasion he told the delegates that he would attend a future meeting to provide an update on progress.

Some delegates suggested that as the meeting was on a Tuesday night and not the usual Monday night that some delegates may not have known it was on.

Mick O'Dowd will attend the June meeting of Meath Co Board and will address the delegates at that stage.
