Colin Keane tops at Dundalk
Colin Keane landed the leading jockey title at Dundalk last night as the 2019 season at the Louth venue concluded.
The Trim man edged out Ronan Whelan 27-26 to land the jockeys’ championship for the third time.
While Keane dreew a blank last night, he enjoyed a double on Wednesday which included one winner for Tony Martin and a double the previous Friday night also.
Keane finished runner-up in the race for the jockeys' title this year on 103 winners, three more than when he was champion for the first time in 2017.
Joseph O’Brien was leading trainer at the track for the second-successive year.
Both championships are sponsored by Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The next meeting at Dundalk is scheduled for Friday evening 3rd January for the start of the 2020 campaign.
