Colin McGuinness, Navan and Ashbourne Mr Colin (Colm) McGuinness, Cornstown, Ashbourne, who died on 16th February last, was a native of Woodlands, Navan. Aged 38, he passed away at Beaumont Hospital. Mr McGuinness was a bar man at the Hunters Moon, Ashbourne, and was very keen on cycling and running. In the past year he had taken up Twaekwondo, which he was enjoying, and received a yellow belt in January. Deceased also had a love of travelling abroad, and frequently travelled to the USA, as well as Australia in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; mother, Nuala, Woodlands, Navan; father, Jack, Johnstown; brothers, Ian, Woodlands, and Derek Mulqueen, Cork; sister, Jackie Crinion, Grangebective, Navan; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ashbourne, to St Declan's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Anne Smith, Ballivor and Dublin Mrs Anne (Nano) Smith, Springbank, Saggart, Co Dublin, who passed away at Larchfield Nursing Home, Naas, on 18th February last, was a member of the Smyth family of Crossanstown, Ballivor. Aged 96, she was predeceased in 2001 by her husband, Peter. Deceased is survived by her daughters, Vera Smith, Saggart and Marie Moylan, Leixlip, Co Kildare; sisters, Julia McGarry, Drogheda, Co Louth, Lucy Cunningham, Hill of Down, Enfield; grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saggart, to Newcastle Cemetery, Co Dublin. _____________________________________________________________ Christy Gilsenan, Killyon The people of Killyon were deeply saddened by passing of Mr Christy Gilsenan at his home, Newtown, Killyon, aged 77. Mr Gilsenan will be remembered as a very popular man and a very good neighbour. He was a noted hurler and won medals for his club and county at all levels. Deceased had also been a keen badminton player. He was predeceased by his parents, Christy and Mary; brother, Matthew, and sister, Patricia. Mr Gilsenan is survived by his wife, Margory; son, Micheal; daughters, Mary, Christine and Catherine; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Clare and Sean; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends. The funeral took place from the Church of the Assumption, Killyon, to the local cemetery, with Fr Patrick Kearney, PP, officiating. _____________________________________________________________ Rose Farrell, Kilcock The death recently occurred, at her residence, of Mrs Rose (Rosie) Farrell, Ferrans, Kilcock. She was aged 80. A member of the Heapes family originally from Baconstown, Enfield, she was widow of the late Mr William Farrell, who predeceased her in 2001. Deceased is survived by her sons, Pat Farrell, Ferrans; John Farrell, Rathmolyon; William Farrell, London, and Paul Farrell, Tullow, Co Carlow; daughter, Mrs Kathleen Burke, Rathcore, Enfield; son-in-law, Patrick; daughters-in-law, Patricia, Carmel and Theresa; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral took place from the Church of the Assumption, Coole, to Gallow Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Eileen Gaynor, Ballinlough There was great sadness over a wide area at the recent death of Mrs Eileen Gaynor of Patrickstown, Ballinlough at the age of 80, in Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. A member of the Sheridan family of Ballinlough, she was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas; her son, Kevin; and daughter, Joan. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother; and is survived by her son, Paul; daughters, Olive, Irene, Gladys and Carol; brothers, Liam and Vincent; sister, Bea; sons-in-law; grandchildren; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews as well as her neighbours and friends who were of enormous help to her and her husband in later years. Her remains were removed to Ballinlough Church and her funeral took place to Ballinlough cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Teresa Stack, Donaghpatrick The death occurred on 12th November last of Mrs Teresa Stack, Teltown, Donaghpatrick, Navan, at her residence. Aged 61, she was a member of the Geraghty family, Kells, and was married to Brendan Stack. She was employed for many years at Tara Shoes, Kells. She is also survived by her daughter, Elaine; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. Deceased will be remembered as a great character and was well-known and respected by all who knew her. Cremation took place at Glasnevin and a Funeral Mass was held in St Colmcille's Church, Kells, on 29th December last, with burial afterwards in St Colmcille's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Delia Geraghty, Kells Mrs Bridget Delia Geraghty, Suffolk Street, Kells, who died on 9th February last at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, was a member of the Farrelly family, Kells, and was aged 91. She was predeceased in 1975 by her husband, Patrick. Deceased worked as a machinist at Tara Shoes, Kells, for many years, and was a devoted mother and friend to many, who will sadly miss her. She is survived by her sons, Tossie, Francis, John and Paudeen; daughters, Judy Husband, Bunny Garvey, Patsy Farrell, Maureen Geraghty and Catherine Reilly; grandchildren; brother, sister, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughters, Delia Duckworth, and in November, Teresa Stack. The funeral took place from St Colmcille's Church, Kells, to St Colmcille's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Rosaleen Grant, Kells and Dublin The burial took place on Friday last in Balgriffin Cemetery, Dublin, of Mrs Rosaleen Grant (nee Kavanagh), Baldoyle and formerly Kells. Wife of the late Michael, she is survived by her daughters, Christine and June; 'adopted' son, Patrick; sister, Patricia; brother, Mattie; sisters, Dermot and Frankie; grandchildren, Shauna, Tori, Ashleigh, Heather, Katie, Alex and Jamie; relatives and friends. _____________________________________________________________ Eamonn Hussey, Dublin and Oldcastle The death occurred on 15th February last of Mr Eamonn Hussey, Memorial Court, Dublin, and late of Moate Oldcastle, aged 64 years. He is survived by his sisters, Bridie Martin, Clonkeify, Oldcastle; May Timmins, Moate, Oldcastle; Kathleen Kimmins, Clonkeify; brothers-in-law, Michael Timmins and Michael Kimmins; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from the Church of St Brigid, Oldcastle, to St Brigid's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Pat Byrne, Ardcath Mr Pat Byrne, Ardcath, who passed away on 17th February last at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, was a native of Meadesbrook, Ashbourne, and was aged 74 years. He is survived by his wife, Monica; daughter, Ellen Donnelly, Cloghertown; son, Brian, Kentstown, and his partner Anne Evans; grandson, Killian; son-in-law, Edward Donnelly; sisters, Kathleen Moore and Elizabeth Burke; brother, Fred; sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a grandson, Darragh Donnelly. The funeral took place from Clonalvey Church to Crossmacole Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Margaret Fitzgerald, Crossakiel Great sadness was occasioned over a wide area of north Meath by the recent death at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, of Mrs Margaret Fitzgerald of Smithstown, Crossakiel, Kells, at the age of 69. Originally a member of the O'Reilly family of Crossakiel, she was a founder member of St Scire Credit Union and an active member of Ballinlough parish. Deceased is survived by her husband, Pat; daughters, Fiona and Frances; sons, Rory and Gene; grandson, Owen, and cousins. Her remans were removed to Ballinlough Church and the funeral took place to Ballinlough Cemetery. A guard of honour was provided at the funeral by children from Ballinlough National School.
