'Cinderella’ panto role for Nobber boy Jordan(10)

Ten year-old Jordan Cassidy from Nobber will be part of a group of dancers from the Spotlight Stage School who are performing in 'Cinderella', in the Olympia Theatre, Dame Street, Dublin, which runs from 22nd December till 9th January. 'Cinderella' stars Jedward as the Fairy God Brothers, Linda Martin as the Fairy Godmother and Jessica Cervi as Cinderella. Jessica won one of the lead roles in RTE's 'Fame The Musical show' held earlier this year. Jordan has been with the Spotlight Stage School since he was seven years-old and trains with the school in Navan every week. He will be part of a dance group in the pantomime. He is a backing dancer with the Spotlight Stage School, Navan, which is run by Stuart O'Connor and Ciara Armstrong. He also danced as part of a group in 'The Snowman' in The National Concert Hall in December 2009 and appeared as part of a dance group in the opening performace of 'The Late Late Toy Show' on 26th November. On Sundays over the last few weeks, Jordan has been travelling to the Liffey Trust Centre, Dublin, preparing with the rest of the cast, for the 'Cinderella' pantomime in The Olympia. Jordan attends Nobber Primary School and won the recently-held school talent show with his rendition of 'Singing In The Rain'. The Spotlight Stage School produce the Christmas pantomime in The Olympia every year. It run schools in Carlow, Navan and Sumerhill. The schools were established in 1997 to cater for talented children outside the Dublin area. It is no surprise that Jordan is interested in the stage as his great grandfather, Patsy McCormack, from The Poles near Kilmainhamwood, was a poet and a playwright. He wrote many poems, many of which were published at Christmastime in the Meath Chronicle over a period of around 25 years, from the 1940s and 1950s. He also wrote articles in The Cork Examiner. Patsy wrote and produced numerous plays, which were held in the north Meath area in places like Lobinstown and Castletown with local drama groups. One of his plays is called 'Forgotten Glory'. Jordan's parents, Barbara and Derek, his sister Kelley May (8) and brother Darragh (13) also attended 'The Late Late Toy Show'.
