Oscars theme for Crumlin Children's Hospital fundraiser in Kells hotel

The paparazzi will be out in Kells on 28th December to catch those on the red carpet attending 'A Night At The Oscars' charity ball in aid of Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. The event follows on from last year's ball in aid of Temple Street Hospital which was a huge success, and the organising committee plans to provide another night to remember this year. The enthusiasm for the ball has certainly defied recessionary times and a number of parents and friends of the hospital are involved in its organisation. The night will have an Oscars theme, with paparazzi, glam and glitz, a gourmet dinner and entertainment in an effort to raise much-needed funds for the St John's Leukemia Ward which has a personal significance to some of the organising committee. Nick Nugent, one of the country's foremost bloodstock auctioneers, will host an auction with some once-off unique items and there will be an exciting prize raffle. The committee points out this festive event is a wonderful opportunity to gather friends and celebrate the festive season while supporting an extremely worthy cause. Our Lady's Children's Hospital is Ireland's largest paediatric hospital with 248 beds, employing over 1,500 staff and is responsible for the provision of the majority of tertiary care service for children, including the national centre for cardiac surgery and haematology/oncology, major burns, medical genetics and medical research for childhood illnesses. All funds raised on the night will aid the purchase of some fundamental equipment for the hospital. Tickets cost €70 and are still available at the Headfort Arms Hotel by calling (046) 924 0063.
