Oscar theme for Kells Chamber Ball
Classic Hollywood-style glamour and red carpet awards are the themes to this year's Kells Chamber of Commerce Ball. The event is always one of the highlights of the annual social calendar - and this year's ball takes place the same weekend as the 2010 Academy Awards and will host its own ceremony to rival that glamorous Hollywood affair. The President's Ball takes place in the Kenlis Suite at the Headfort Arms Hotel on Saturday 6th March at 7.30pm sharp. MC for the night is 2FM DJ and Kells native Damien Farrelly, who has been nominated for a prestigious Meteor Music Award next month. Kells Chamber will host its second annual Business Awards during the course of the ball. Nominees in six categories will be in line for awards which will be announced by Damien Farrelly. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to one local business luminary during the course of the gala ceremony. The black-tie event kicks off with the required walk up the red carpet and a champagne reception before a four-course gourmet dinner, complete with wine. Chamber president Jess Olohan will do the honours of presenting a specially commissioned piece of artwork by local artist, Beth Campbell, to each of the award winners. The Moog 69s, a Dublin-based dance band which are very much in demand, will provide the music. There will be a raffle with the chance to win some fabulous prizes, too. Tickets are priced at a recession-busting €65 each, and are available as individual tickets or it is possible to book a table for 10. Tickets for the 2010 President's Ball and Chamber Awards are available from Kells Chamber Office on (046) 924 0055 or email info@kellschamber.ie
