Forget MatchAttax, a Meath GAA club has hit the premier league with it's own sticker album, with personalised stickers of every member to encourage the community to get to know each other.

All members of St Mary's GFC Club in Donore can now buy a packet of six stickers for €1 in an effort to collect all 282 stickers needed to fill the album.

The stickers are of each individual player from nursery and juvenile to senior grades and coaches as well as collective pics of teams and even the club crest.

Committee member Colm Brereton said the idea, which is a fundraiser, is also to spark familiarity among members.

"The kids, who may have collected stickers of premier league players in the past, are delighted that they now have their own sticker in a book which they can keep as a souvenir," he saidl

"These children, juveniles and all members are the heart of the club and deserve this presentation of their very own personalised sticker book, that they can eventually show their own children in years to come.

"The stickers will also allow members, who may train on different days, to get to know everyone in the club and the wider community.

"We are also hoping to start a swop shop in the local schools where kids can swap their doubles and hopefully fill their album quicker.

"We are the second GAA club in the country to do this, after Louth's Stabannon Parnells GAA club who introduced us to the initiative.

The club, which recently built a new club house and large community hall is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
