Mr J Lynch, Beauparc THE passing of Mr James (Jimmy) Lynch (68) of Dollardstown, Beauparc occurred at his residence in late September, following a long illness borne with great dignity. The Maghera, Virginia native trained in carpentry in the town"s technical school before emigrating to London, where he worked first as a carpenter and later as site foreman with McInerney Builders. Deceased married Eileen (nee Cahill) from Moynalty in 1962 and the couple set up home in north London, where his life-long support for Arsenal became a family tradition. The family moved to Beauparc in 1979, where he set up his own building business, JRL Builders, from which he retired in 2004. The deceased renewed his enthusiastic support for the Cavan footballers, and was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, caring brother and friend. His religious devotion stood alongside a good humour which he retained to the end. Mr Lynch is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Gerry and David; daughters, Corinna, Emma and Debbie; grandchildren Ben, Luke, James, Ella and Eva; brothers, Harry, Bernard, Noel and Josie; sisters, Angela, Vera, Marie, Patricia and Alice; in-laws; aunt, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. His remains were removed to the Church of the Assumption, Beauparc, where Funeral Mass was celebrated prior to interment in the local cemetery. Mr B O"Sullivan, Moynalvey Widespread regret and sadness was aroused by the death of Mr Brian O"Sullivan, Moynalvey, in St James" Hospital, after a short illness. Deceased was a member of the O"Sullivan family of Bonestown, Dunshaughlin, and was a retired garda sergeant, having served in Dublin and Donegal. Mr O"Sullivan played underage football with St Martin"s, the Dunshaughlin-Drumree underage club, and football with Dunshaughlin, winning a junior championship medal in 1967. Following his move to Moynalvey, deceased became active in the GAA there and served as club chairman. In 1973, he married Bridie Hoban and they settled in Clonlyon, in Moynalvey. Mr O"Sullivan was known to give a helping hand to many including family, neighbours, colleagues and friends, and enjoyed nothing better than a game of golf with his friends. Deceased is survived by his wife, Bridie; brothers, John, Gerry, Joseph, Patrick and Donal; sisters, Phyllis Smith, Marie Naughton, Lilian Summerville, Eileen Clarke and Doreen Naughton, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Colm, and Br Damien. The funeral took place from the Church of the Nativity, Moynalvey, to the adjoining cemetery. Mrs K McKenna, Navan The death occurred on 14th October last of Mrs Kathleen McKenna, Beechmount Gardens, Navan, at the age of 72 years, after a brave battle with illness. Mrs McKenna, who died peacefully at home surrounded by her family, was wife of the late Derry McKenna, who died in 1981. Deceased, a member of the Woods family of Mullingar, was a book-keeper in Newmans of Athboy before her marriage to Derry McKenna in 1958. The couple then ran a well-known and successful grocery and petrol retail business at Balgill, Navan, near Bective, for many years until Mr McKenna"s death. Mrs McKenna took great interest in her family, grandchildren, home and garden, and was popular in the local community. Other interests included reading, general knowledge, quizzes, music and travel. She is survived by her sons, Finian, Shane and Ronan, Navan, and Dara, Dublin; daughter, Aoife Mannion, Westport; daughters-in-law, Ann and Jennifer; son-in-law, Eddie; grandchildren; brothers, Paddy Woods, Kells, Tony Woods, Monasterevin, Larry Woods, Galway; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Mary"s Church, Navan, to Dunderry Cemetery. Mr P O"Dowd, Mountnugent THERE was much sadness in Mountnugent in mid-October with the news of the passing at his residence of Mr Peter O"Dowd (81) of Ross. The farmer is survived by his sister, Phyllis Slevin (Dublin); sisters-in-law, Anne and Clare; brother-in-law, Jimmy; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. His remains were removed to St Brigid"s Church, Mountnugent, where Funeral Mass was celebrated prior to interment in Ballinacree cemetery. Mrs M Ward, Navan Mrs Margaret Ward, Hillview, Navan, who died recently, was well-known as a businesswoman who, with her late husband, Pat, ran a drapery business in Moynalty, and later the Tara na Ri public house and grocery at Garlow Cross, Navan. She passed away, aged 92, on 24th September last. Formerly Margaret McMahon of Rakeevan, Bailieboro, Co Cavan, she served her time in the drapery business in Bailieboro, and worked in Portarlington and Kells, where she met her husband. They were married in 1946 and established their own drapery in Moynalty while bringing up nine children. They moved to Garlow Cross in the 1970s, and deceased lived at Tara na Ri until January 2006 when she moved to Navan. Mrs Ward was predeceased by her daughter, Frances, in 1994, and husband, Pat, in 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Imelda Donnellan, Moynalty, Aileen Lee, Navan, Emer McAndrew, Dublin; sons, Val, Navan, Patrick, Dublin, Eamonn, London, Ciaran, Corballis, Garlow Cross, and Philip, Dublin; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral took place from St Oliver"s Church, Blackcastle, to the Hill of Tara cemetery. Mr S O"Rourke, Navan The death occurred suddenly on 20th October last of Mr Shane O"Rourke, Mill Lane, Navan, and formerly of Kingscourt. He was aged 27 years. Mr O"Rourke was a stonemason and was a family man who loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed music and keeping fit. Deceased is survived by his parents, Dom and Hazel; brothers, Nicky, Stephen, Kieran, Lee, Darren, Adam, Jason, and Breffni; sisters, Tracy, Donna and Hayley; in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral Mass took place from St Mary"s Church, Navan, to St Finian"s Cemetery.
